Frequently Asked Questions
What is the rate for a therapy session?
Sessions are billed at $165 inclusive for 60 minutes of therapy. We are not required to charge HST.
Invoices will be sent after the session. Once payment is received, receipts will be sent.
Is sliding scale (reduced rate therapy) available?
There is a limited amount of sliding scale spots available at Embodied Healing. Please inquire to see if a spot is available. Priority is given to those with a limited income, those without insurance, and those who identity as BIPOC and/or 2SLGBTQ+.
How often will we meet for therapy?
The frequency of sessions depends on the preference of each client. Individuals commonly start with weekly or biweekly sessions and then space out the sessions as they gain more self-regulation tools. We ask clients to tune into what feels right for them.

How long are therapy sessions?
Sessions are available at 30, 45, 60, 75 and 90 minute intervals. This time includes the time it takes to book follow-up sessions. The most common booking time is 60 minutes.
Are therapy sessions in-person or virtual?
We offer in-person sessions in the East Danforth neighbourhood in Toronto (near Greenwood subway station).
We offer virtual sessions across Ontario using the Jane App video platform or telephone.
Hybrid of both in-person and virtual is also available.

How is payment accepted?
We accept payment via e-transfer.
What is the cancellation policy?
We have a 48 hour cancellation policy.

What age range do you work with?
We work with individuals over the age of 18. This includes youth, adults and older adults.
Do you offer couples or family therapy?
We do not offer couples or family therapy. We offer individual therapy.
Can I claim your services through insurance?
If you have a benefits plan, some plans may cover full or part of therapy sessions as offered by a Registered Social Worker (RSW). Contact your insurance company to ensure they cover social work services. You can also claim therapy as a medical expense for tax purposes.

Wellness services that fall outside the scope of social work practice such as Restorative Yoga and Reiki are subject to HST and are not covered through insurance, as these are not a part of social work services and are separate from our therapy practice. If you have a Wellness account through your insurance provider, please contact them to see if yoga and Reiki are covered.
